Katie Petersen is a painter from Omaha Nebraska. She has completed her Master of Fine Arts in  painting at Fort Hays State University in 2023. Working in mediums such as Oil Paint, Watercolor, and Alcohol ink, her thesis work Centripetal explores and contemplates the relationship of the mind and body work together to overcome and address pain. 

 

Since completing her graduate degree, Petersen was selected and attended the artist residency centers Arteles in Haukijarvi, Finand and La Porte Peinte in Noyers, France. Her work will be displayed in the November 2024 issue of Artist Magazine.

 

Petersen teaches Painting, Drawing and Art History at Sterling  College as the Assistant Professor of Fine Arts and Design.
